No paywall, no account, no ads inside the tools, nothing counting how many quotes you have read this month. Twelve and a half thousand quotes and seven tools, here since 2007. That part is settled and it is not up for discussion.
The site is free to use. It is not free to run. I pay for it myself, it has cost more than it makes for a while now, and this is the one page out of fifteen thousand where I mention it. If something here has helped you, you can help keep it up.

Not a salary. Not marketing. Not an office. Here is the whole list, and if any line of it ever stops being true this is the first section that changes.
Four things you should know before you give me money
The unflattering version, because you deserve it before you decide
- This is not a charity and your gift is not tax deductible. Live Life Happy is a website run by a person. There is no 501(c)(3), no board, no annual report. If you need a deduction, give this money to a real charity instead and use the tools with my blessing.
- The money goes to a hosting bill, not to children. Nobody is fed by this. It keeps a quiet website online. That is a smaller thing than most donation pages are asking for and I would rather say so than dress it up.
- Nothing here goes behind a paywall either way. Giving does not unlock anything and not giving does not lock anything. There is no members-only tier, no ad-free upgrade, no badge. What you get is the same thing you already have.
- If everyone reads this and nobody gives, the site still stays up. It gets slower and the next tool takes longer, but it stays. I am not going to hold it hostage.
What building one of these actually takes
Pixel Pal took weeks. So did What to Say, which meant reading through grief forums until the same sentences started repeating, then writing 575 lines by hand and throwing most of them away. None of that is fast, and none of it is worth doing badly.
If enough people chip in, the next one gets built sooner. If they do not, it still gets built, just slower. That is the honest version of what your money does.
Four things that help just as much and cost nothing
Honestly. If you do any of these, you have done your bit and I would rather have this than the money.
- Send a quote to someone. That is the entire point of the place.
- Tell one person about a tool. Somebody you know is rewriting the same difficult message right now.
- Link to us if you write anywhere. It matters more than you would think.
- Tell us what is broken. A two-line email about something annoying is worth more than most donations. The contact page is here.
Either way, thank you for being here. The site has been going since 2007 and the reason is people turning up, reading something, and feeling a bit better than they did before they opened the tab.
That is the whole job. The hosting bill is just the boring part.
